Purpose of our research library

Our research resources are written to help readers understand mechanisms, study design, laboratory terminology and the current state of published evidence. They are not intended to replace primary scientific literature, professional medical advice or regulatory guidance.

Source standards

When available, we prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as peer-reviewed research papers, PubMed-indexed publications, registered clinical trials, regulatory documents and established scientific institutions. Secondary sources may be used for context, but important scientific claims should be traceable to the underlying evidence.

How we describe the strength of evidence

Not all research carries the same weight. We aim to distinguish clearly between:

• Human clinical evidence — findings from studies involving people, with attention to study size, design and limitations.
• Animal research — useful for investigating mechanisms and biological effects, but not automatically predictive of human outcomes.
• In-vitro or laboratory research — findings from cells, tissues or controlled laboratory systems that may identify mechanisms without establishing real-world outcomes.
• Mechanistic or theoretical discussion — scientifically plausible explanations that should not be presented as established clinical effects.
• Early-stage or limited evidence — areas where research is still developing and conclusions should remain cautious.

How we write scientific claims

We aim to describe what a study observed rather than turning preliminary findings into broad promises. Where evidence is early, mixed, animal-based or theoretical, we try to make that limitation clear. We also avoid presenting association as proof of causation or implying that a proposed mechanism guarantees a specific outcome.

References and citations

Research articles should include identifiable references where practical, especially for claims about mechanisms, study findings, safety signals or areas of scientific interest. We favor direct links to primary publications, trial registries and authoritative scientific or regulatory sources.

Laboratory documentation and COAs

Certificates of analysis and laboratory reports can provide useful information about a tested sample, including identity, lot information, analytical methods and reported purity or other measured characteristics. A COA should be interpreted in context: it reflects the sample and methods described in that report and should not be treated as proof of every possible characteristic of a product.

Updates and corrections

Scientific understanding changes over time. We may revise articles when stronger evidence becomes available, new trials are published, important safety or regulatory information changes, or a better primary source becomes available. Material updates may be reflected in the page’s modified date.

If we identify a factual error, we aim to correct it rather than preserve outdated information. Readers can contact us through our Contact page if they believe an article contains an error or needs clarification.

Commercial transparency

Elev8 Lab is a commercial supplier of research products. Some educational pages link to related products available on our site. The existence of a product link does not change the evidence standard we aim to apply when summarizing research, and commercial availability should not be interpreted as proof of safety, efficacy or suitability for any particular use.
